On January 8, this year CUTS signed MoU for partnering with the Dept. of Consumer Affairs on a project titled ‘Grassroots Reachout and Networking in Rajasthan through Consumer Action (GRANIRCA). The objective of the project is to build a stronger consumer movement at the grassroots by way of equipping the consumer activists with skills and create a network of zealous grassroots activists through intensive training, capacity building and orientation programmes on relevant consumer protection issues to create an enabling environment at the grassroots in 12 selected districts of Rajasthan.
Marking the conclusion of the activities of the first year, we are planning a State Level Feedback Round Table in Jaipur on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 involving all stakeholders of the project, the Central & state Governments, the consumer fora, the consumer organisations, representatives of common consumers etc.
The objective of the Feedback Roundtable is to consolidate and share the key learning gained from various districts, under the project with various stakeholders and to identify the points for advocacy. The event also will critically review the activities carried out under the project for effective implementation of the project activities in the coming years.
