Green Action Week (October 03-9, 2022) is a global campaign to promote sustainable consumption. It is an initiative by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) and carried out in coordination with Consumers International (CI). Each year in October, organisations around the world take joint action to promote a common cause. This year 60 civil society organisations (CSOs) in 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the US participated in the campaign.

The theme for 2022 was the ‘Sharing Community’. The significance of this is to ignite cultures of sharing and collaboration to make sure that everyone has sustainable access to goods and services.

The campaign targeted at urban consumers to expand the outreach in four localities (Jagganath puri Extension, Gulab Vihar Sukhiya, Girdharipura & Hinglaj Nagar) in the city of Jaipur. The major activities of this year four introductory meetings and four feedback meetings for kitchen gardens, three days of training in each location on the theme of “Wealth out of Waste,” a Bicycle rally, an Awareness workshop with students, Promoting Book Sharing through Book Bank, four community level stakeholder consultations, and finally, a final stakeholder consultation.

The partner Districts were: Bhilwara, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dungarpur, Kota, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Pratapgarh, Sawai Madhopur, and Udaipur in addition to Jaipur.
