In the run up to 15 March, all consumer advocacy groups around the world will be making one big call on mobile phone service providers to demand better services for the 7 billion mobile users across the globe. The occasion being World Consumer Rights Day.
CUTS, a Jaipur based leading consumer advocacy group is also commemorating this occasion of World Consumer Rights Day on 15th March, 2014 by organising an interface comprising telecom consumers and service providers in the CUTS Conference Hall (D 218, Bhaskar Marg, Bani Park, Jaipur). This year’s theme of world consumer rights day is ‘Fix Our Phone Rights’.
On the occasion, Jaipur based telecom consumers, representatives of various other consumer organisations and CSOs and service providers comprising of representatives of BSNL, Airtel, Reliance, Tata Docomo, Aircel, Idea, MTS etc. would be taking an active part in the interface. In the discussions, consumers envisage to raise and demand issues from service providers like providing them with fair contracts explained in clear, complete and accessible language; fair and transparent billing; security and power over their own information and listening and responding to their complaints.
The key issues emerged from the interface would serve as a voice to add and mobilse to demand for phone rights throughout the world.
