About Project
The Water Lab Programme is an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening urban water quality governance and promoting safe drinking water management in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Implemented by CUTS International in partnership with Villgro Foundation and technology partner Cluix, the programme addresses growing concerns related to drinking water quality, groundwater stress, and the need for improved urban water governance. The project adopts a collaborative approach that combines technology, institutional partnerships, and community engagement to create sustainable solutions for urban water challenges. Through the deployment of innovative water quality monitoring and treatment technologies, the programme generates real-time insights and evidence to support better decision-making and water management practices.
The initiative works closely with key stakeholders, including the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Government of Rajasthan, urban local bodies, technical institutions, and community groups. It also promotes awareness on water quality issues, encourages citizen participation, and facilitates policy dialogue on strengthening urban water systems. By fostering innovation and institutional convergence, the Water Lab Programme seeks to develop a scalable and replicable model for improving water quality governance and ensuring safer, more resilient urban water systems in Jaipur and beyond.
