The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) also provides the opportunity for human rights and development actors to actively combine and integrate these two areas. New and innovative thinking and collaboration are required to utilize the Convention so as to bring maximum benefit to persons with disabilities and society.
In this context Sightsavers and CUTS co-organised a State Level Consultation on ‘Mainstreaming Disability in Rajasthan’ in Jaipur at Hotel Jaipur Palace, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010. The main objective of the meeting was to sensitize and build the capacity of the participants on this issue.
