Safer and More Sustainable Food for All Green Action Week 2013

CUTS has started implementing an awareness campaign on ‘Safer and More Sustainable Food For All’ in at 10 gram panchayats of Sambhar block of Jaipur district of Rajasthan in partnership with Consumer Coordination Council (CCC) during Green Action Week 2013. Green Action Week theme for 2013 is ‘Safer and More Sustainable Food for All’. The Green Action Week usually takes place in the first week of October every year.

Through the Green Action Week SSNC along with partners across the world, aims to promote sustainable development and reduce poverty by promoting worldwide awareness and advocacy activities which encourage sustainable patterns of consumption. The Green Action Fund is made available through partnership with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) and Consumers International (CI) and is inspired by SSNC’s Shop and Act Green Week.

Objective

  • To generate awareness among consumers about organic products (benefits, availability etc.)
  • Educating the cultivators to use organic fertilizers to grow foods and not to resort to adulteration, so that the people of the country would get good and pure food and live a healthy life
