Organic Food and Farming for All Green Action Week 2014

The campaign aims to facilitate awareness generation among consumers of Jaipur city of Rajasthan about organic food, specifically vegetable and fruits that would encourage consumers to shift towards sustainable pattern of consumption. The campaign would specifically target women and youth amongst the consumers. With the rationale of influencing consumer behavior in favor of organic food, various activities in the form of cottage meetings, street plays, signature campaign and stakeholder consultation will take place. CUTS will be collaborating with several Civil Society Organizations, consumer groups, producer groups, policy makers and media. Increased awareness will not only enhance the demand for organic vegetables and fruits but also encourage the consumers to grow plants in an organic way for their kitchen garden. All this would lead towards enhanced availability, affordability and consumption of organic food products.

Objective

  • To generate awareness among consumers about organic vegetables and fruits that would encourage consumers to shift towards organic agricultural products and sustainable consumption.
  • To promote consumers’ demand for organic vegetables and fruits.
  • To foster policy and practice for promoting the use of organic agricultural products thereby contributing towards sustainable pattern of consumption.
